Shilpa Sindhe – Data Science Lead Instructor | General Assembly | Singapore
Shilpa has been in the Data industry for close to 12 years. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore. She is currently a Lead Instructor for the Data Science course at General Assembly Singapore where she trains and enables mid-career professionals to break the barrier into Tech. Before her current role, she previously worked as a Data Scientist in an HR Tech start-up, the public sector, and at Fortune 500 Semiconductor MNC. She has worked extensively with various tools like AWS Cloud Technology, Python, Power BI, and SQL to solve various business problems around Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Statistical Analysis, and Reporting Automation.
Guan Wang – Senior Data Scientist | Munich Re | Singapore

Guan Wang is currently a Senior Data Scientist for Life & Health Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa business of Munich Re. He has been working on research and development of machine learning, computer vision and natural language processing in academic institutions and industrial research labs, and has published several technical books, academic papers and industry patents. He is also an active tech blogger and community contributor, receiving 11k+ stars for his open source projects on Github. Guan has more than 12 years of experience in data science and 4 years of experience in applying AI to the insurance industry. He holds a Bachelor degree in Physics and Computer Science from Peking University, and a MPhil degree in Physics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Sutowo – Director, Data Analytics | MOH Singapore | Singapore

Sutowo is the Director, Data Analytics Division at Ministry of Health (MOH) Singapore. He leads a team of data scientists, statisticians and health economists in applying artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), operations research, systems modeling, geospatial analytics, forecasting, econometrics, visualisation and primary research in support of MOH’s priorities in policy formulation and review, service planning and operations.
He is responsible for leading health AI strategy and building ecosystem enablers needed i.e. AI governance, data and IT platforms, funding, to support the development and deployment of impactful, scalable, responsible AI solutions in the healthcare sector. He is also responsible for capability development, publication, partnership and outreach with regard to data analytics and AI in MOH.
Prior to his role in MOH, he was in various analytics leadership roles with experience across various domains such as customer, fraud/risk, HR and operations. He worked with organisations in public service, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, CPG, retail, telco, banking, insurance, energy, airlines and hospitality in Southeast Asia, China, India and Japan.

Dr. David Duan is Head of Data at GoTo Financial, looking after both Data Science (ML & AI) and Advanced Analytics. He is a strategic thinker and leader, with more than 15 years of experience helping organisations improve their Data Science capabilities, such as, building Data & Data Science functions from scratch, developing and driving Data & Data Science strategy, embedding Data Science into organisational processes, and leveraging Data Science, ML and AI for product innovation. David holds a PhD and BSc (First Class Honours) from The University of Auckland.

Mark Teehan is a Principal Solution Engineer for Confluent, based in Singapore. He works with organizations that seek to move from designing and deploying systems that have data-at-rest to data-in-motion. Confluent enables a central nervous system for data: sharing data in real time throughout the organization. Mark works on systems related to payments, self-driving cars, insurance claim fraud detection, internet of things and other cutting edge system architectures.

A technology entrepreneur at heart, James has more than 25 years in sales and leadership experience with leading technology companies. As the Senior Vice President of Dataiku APAC, he is responsible for to drive it’s growth and expansion in the region. During his career at Microsoft, he held various leadership roles in Asia Pacific and was part of its High Potential Senior Leader Bench Program, a program reserved for its top leaders. As the APAC Cloud Partnership Lead, he was pivotal in building Microsoft’s Cloud business from its infancy to a leading position in Asia Pacific, growing its cloud business to US$0.5B. Prior to joining Dataiku as its SVP APAC, James was Head of Asia, Dropbox.
James is no stranger to digital transformation. As a leader, he embraces Disruption and Innovation. He is an active angel investor and is on the advisory board of different startups.
